During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Association played a vital role in campus maintenance, including the upkeep of plantations and gardens. Post-pandemic, it has continued to support the college by funding garden maintenance, converting a gravel road between the English and Geography Departments into a paved road, and providing monetary awards to outstanding students.
The Association recently organized a successful Alumni Meet that facilitated nationwide networking and idea exchange. Alumni have been generous with their contributions, including pledges for purchasing computers for the college. They actively engage in motivational speaking, career guidance for new students, and participation in college events such as Nabin Baran Utsab, reinforcing the college’s tradition and community spirit.
The Association’s involvement extends to organizing and supporting annual sports events, promoting teamwork and sportsmanship. It also plays a key role in cultural events like Basanta Utsab and Saraswati Puja, celebrating regional heritage. In addition to cultural and sporting activities, alumni contribute to academic and professional development through career guidance sessions and job opportunity programs, enhancing student employability.
Financial assistance from the Association supports college development and fundraising efforts, including reunions, charitable events, and crowdfunding campaigns. Seminars on various topics, featuring established alumni and eminent personalities, enrich the academic environment. The Association also organizes book donation drives to enhance the departmental library and often provides mentorship to students for career and professional skills development.
Furthermore, the Association partners with the college for guest lectures and workshops led by accomplished alumni, offering students real-world insights. Networking events, reunions, and social gatherings provide alumni with opportunities to reconnect and build new relationships.
The Association’s social impact initiatives include collaboration with NSS units on special camps and blood donation drives. It has also contributed a glow signboard for the main gate and organized a silver jubilee reunion.
All alumni are encouraged to contribute a registration fee of Rs. 200/- for each membership. The Nandigram Sitananda College Alumni Association Committee remains dedicated to fostering a supportive environment within the college, enhancing the educational experience, and promoting a strong sense of pride and community among all members.
