About The Department
Our Vission
- To develop the department as centre of excellence in teaching and research. The department plans to:
- Provide quality teaching and research.
- Equip students with latest knowledge in science.
- Development of best resource for students.
- Strong collaboration with reputed institutions, universities and industries.
- Catering the need of pharmaceutical, polymer and agrochemical industries.
Mission
- To provide the students an affordable learning environment for the successful completion of their B.Sc. degree.
- To prepare the students for different national as well as state level competitive examinations like UGC-NET, JAM, IISER, SET etc.
- It is proposed to start the Add-on and Certificate courses in the emerging areas as per UGC guideline in the several disciplines like Environmental Chemistry, Agrochemistry, Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Pharmaceuticals, Photochemistry. Computational Chemistry, Molecular Modelling etc.
Departmental Highlights
- The department of chemistry updates curricula on a regular basis to ensure that the students keep up with the changing trends ranging from undergraduate degree to Ph.D. programs.
- Sustainability and Green Chemistry: Focuses on reducing chemical waste, developing green alternatives to harmful chemicals.
- Undergraduate students are encouraged to participate in research. Alumni often occupy positions in academia, industry and Government.
Rules Of The Department
- Students of the department of Chemistry have to participate in the various events such as seminar, workshop, field visit, debates, wall magazine.
- As per the University norm 75% attendance in class is mandatory for appearing in the final University examination
- Students must return their borrowed books to the departmental library before collecting their admit cards from the office for final University examination.
- Students should maintain a healthy academic atmosphere and should not involve in ragging or harassing anybody.
- Internal Examination of the department of Chemistry is mandatory.
- Students must inform the departmental head in written in case of continuous absence for more than seven consecutive days in the class.
- Students must use the dustbins available in the campus.
